Welcome To The World Of Brain Gym® What is Brain Gym®? Brain Gym is one of the fastest growing practices of wellness. Individual or group sessions offer a non-pharmaceutical means of anger, stress and trauma management through the movements of Brain Gym. Forty years ago Paul Dennison Ph.D. a teacher of learning disabled students discovered that movement would help students overcome certain learning problems. Since then, the Brain Gym Process has been accepted and is practiced in over forty countries throughout the world. The movements are based on Kinesiology that is the study and science of movement within the body. Based on his knowledge, Dr. Dennison named the exercises Brain Gym. These exercises create a readiness of mind and body through simple, energizing body movements. The brain receives and interprets all communication from all senses and responds based on past experiences. The program does not teach yoga, meditation, Buddhism, or any religious doctrine. The 26 Brain Gym activities were studied and developed over a 35-year period by Paul and Gail Dennison. These movements are developmentally based, and relate to specific and well-established reflexes that children normally complete on their own if given enough freedom of physical movement, and if they incur no injury or stress to inhibit these natural movement experiences. Brain Gym is a practical, dynamic, personal development program. In a session you will experience quick and enjoyable physical activities that directly enhance brain function.
